CORROSION UNDER INSULATION

hot chill.webp

Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) is a severe form of localized, external corrosion that commonly occurs on insulated steel piping systems. The most common contributors to CUI are moisture (water in all forms is the most significant contributor to corrosion), operating temperature, and chemical exposure. Prevention lies in controlling these contributors to CUI through proper system design and material specification, installation, and maintenance.

PERMA-PIPE provides industry-leading solutions addressing CUI contributors. Our products can be coated to avoid premature failure of the piping system due to corrosion, which results in production downtime, costly maintenance & repair, and health & safety risks.
