Pipelines carrying crude oil and other refined products are often constructed in shallow water locations such as lakes, river crossings, or near the world’s ocean coastlines. Insulation of these pipelines may be required to maintain fluid temperatures above the point where hydrate or paraffin formation can occur, resulting in restricted or blocked flow and reduced production.
